A teleclass is a great way to gather people together using the latest telephone technology! Participants dial a telephone number, then follow the prompts to enter a code given to them by the class leader. Then, Voila! You are in a conference call that unites people
from anywhere in the country or even the world.
There are no geographic boundaries, and it's so convenient: you can participate from home, office or wherever you find yourself at the appointed hour, as long as you have access to a phone! Furthermore, many teleclasses are recorded so you may catch up if you miss a class-- or listen again.
When you enter the code and are connected to the call, the leader is usually is notified of a new caller joining, and you may be asked to say your name and where you are from as a way of saying, "Hi," to everyone and introducing yourself.
Each and every time you speak, you should identify yourself. On the phone, we can't see you, so it helps people keep track of who's who if you say your name each time.
Please be aware that background noise can disrupt a class, so we ask that if you are calling from a noisy place that you "mute" yourself
by pushing 4* on your handset. When you want to open the line again so you can speak (and not just listen), push 4* again.
Enjoy this is a wonderful way of connecting with others!
